handy tools for nail art!
Models Own Nail Art Pen
This models own Nail Art Pen is sooo goood! Well, it's the only proper one I have tried but can't find one single fault with it! When creating stripes on the manicure shown above, I originally used a paintbrush dipped in white paint. I had a doh moment because once I had finished one hand, I found this Nail Art Pen hiding in my box! Using this pen took me... let's say about 5 minutes to do my right hand? .. and that was using my left hand! This tool is so easy to use and it's so easy to handle; it means you can create easy stripes in no time! I will definitely be buying another one of these when I run out! The box is very pretty too! :D
tHE DOTTING TOOL
The dotting tool is one of the most essential tools to use when doing nail art as it can be used to create many different designs. You can buy the dotting tools from eBay or Amazon at a very cheap price, or you can make your own using bobby pins and any other objects with thin rounded ends. With the dotting tool you can create designs such as flowers, big polka dots to little polka dots, you can perfect a manicure and you can create the effect of melting ice cream/dripping paint. The dotting tool comes in many different sizes so you're spoilt for choice!
Below are a few designs I was able to create using the dotting tool.

Nail corrector pen
I LOVE this product! At only £4.99 from Superdrug, this product is definitely worth a buy! It comes with 2 replacement nibs, all are double ended so if one side gets too dirty you can flip it to use the other side! The Barry M Nail Corrector Pen is brilliant for cleaning up the excess nail varnish which ends up all around your fingertips. It makes a botch nail art job look fantastic as it cleans up perfectly! This pen is lemon scented and it acetone free. It has a fine tip so you won't take any of your nail varnish off whilst using it, as you may do when using cotton buds.
a pAINTBRUSH (OR TWO!)
A paintbrush in Nail Art is a life saver when you don't have a dotting tool handy! I find thinner and shorter ended paintbrushes are the easiest to use as they tend to create the most detail. You can buy a small paintbrush at your local arts and crafts shop as it doesn't need to be anything professional! I find the paintbrush is very useful for adding the small bits of details which dotting tools may not be able to create, such as the outlining of flowers, and detailing them also! An example of this is in my rose patterns, as I used a paintbrush to outline the flower which was much more effective than if I had used a dotting tool. It meant the pattern was more steady and neat looking.
